First Responder Owned & Operated

frequently asked questions

Questions are part of the process.
Whether you're completely new to fitness or you've been training for years, we want you to understand what you're signing up for before you ever become an Arizyn client.
Can't find what you're looking for? Reach out — we're happy to help.

Is Arizyn coaching beginner-friendly?

Absolutely.
You don't need to already know how to train, track your nutrition, or navigate a gym before starting coaching. Your plan will be built around your current experience level, and part of our job is teaching you the skills you need along the way.
You don't need to get "in shape" before hiring a coach. That's what we're here for.

Do you coach both men and women?

Yes.
Arizyn is for anyone who connects with our approach to fitness and is ready to work toward becoming stronger, healthier, and more confident.
While some of our content and branding may reflect Kaela's personal experiences as a female athlete, our coaching philosophy isn't limited by gender.

Do I need a gym membership?

No.
Your training program can be designed around the equipment you actually have access to, whether that's a commercial gym, home gym, or a more limited equipment setup.
We'll discuss your equipment and training environment before building your program.

Do I need previous fitness experience?

Not at all.
We work with clients at different experience levels. If you're brand new, we'll start with the fundamentals. If you've been training for years, we'll meet you there.
The goal isn't to fit you into an "advanced" or "beginner" box. It's to determine what makes sense for you right now.

coaching

Is my program personalized?

Yes.
Your training and nutrition recommendations are built around your goals, experience, schedule, available equipment, preferences, and current habits.
As you progress, your plan can change with you.

How do check-ins work?

You'll complete regular check-ins that allow us to look at more than just your weight.
Depending on your goals, we may review training performance, nutrition, measurements, progress photos, recovery, sleep, stress, habits, challenges, and wins from the week.
Your check-in helps us decide whether something needs to change — or whether the best decision is to keep going.

How often can I communicate with my coach?

You don't have to wait until check-in day to ask a question.
Clients have access to ongoing communication through our coaching platform for questions, clarification, support, and updates between check-ins.
We want communication to be useful and accessible while also encouraging you to develop confidence in your own decision-making over time.

What coaching platform do you use?

We use Everfit to keep your coaching experience organized in one place.
Depending on your coaching plan, you'll be able to access your workouts, track progress, complete check-ins, communicate with your coach, and view other coaching resources directly through the app.

What happens if my schedule changes?

Then we adapt.
Your program should work within your life — not require your entire life to revolve around your program.
Work schedules change. Kids get sick. Travel happens. Some weeks are chaotic.
Rather than treating those situations as failures, we'll work together to determine the best way to adjust while continuing to move forward.

Can you work with unusual or unpredictable schedules?

Yes.
We understand that not everyone lives on a Monday-through-Friday schedule.
Shift workers, first responders, healthcare workers, parents, and others with changing schedules may require a different approach to training, nutrition, recovery, and weekly planning.
Your plan should reflect the life you actually live.

nutrition

Do I have to track macros?

Not necessarily.
Macro tracking can be an incredibly useful tool, but it isn't the only way to improve your nutrition.
The approach we use will depend on your goals, experience, preferences, and relationship with food.
For some clients, tracking may be appropriate. For others, we may focus on portions, meal structure, protein intake, food quality, habits, or other strategies.
The goal is never simply to make you good at entering food into an app.
It's to help you understand how to fuel yourself.

Will you give me a meal plan?

Our primary approach focuses on teaching you how to make your own food choices rather than handing you a rigid list of foods you have to eat.
We can help with meal ideas, structure, portions, macros, food substitutions, and strategies that make nutrition easier to navigate.
We want you to learn how to eat in a way that supports your goals even when you're not following a perfectly planned day.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions or preferences?

In many cases, yes.
Nutrition recommendations can be adapted around food allergies, intolerances, preferences, cultural considerations, and dietary patterns when they're within our professional scope.
Let us know about any dietary needs during your application so we can determine whether Arizyn is an appropriate fit.

Can you help with medical nutrition needs?

Arizyn provides fitness and nutrition coaching within our professional scope and does not replace care from a physician, registered dietitian, or other licensed healthcare professional.
If you have a medical condition requiring medical nutrition therapy or specialized dietary treatment, we may ask that you work with an appropriate healthcare professional.
We're always willing to collaborate within our scope when appropriate.

training

How are my workouts created?

Your training program is built around your goals, training experience, schedule, equipment, movement ability, and the amount of time you realistically have available.
We don't believe a program is "better" simply because it's harder or requires more days in the gym.
The best program is one that provides an appropriate training stimulus and that you can consistently recover from and execute.

What if I don't know how to perform an exercise?

That's okay — you're not expected to know everything.
Your program includes exercise guidance, and you can reach out if you're unsure about a movement or need an alternative.
Part of coaching is learning.

What if I can't train five or six days per week?

You don't need to.
More training isn't automatically better training.
Your program will be designed around the number of days you can realistically and consistently commit to while still allowing adequate recovery.

RESULTS & EXPECTATIONS

How quickly will I see results?

That depends on your starting point, goals, consistency, training history, nutrition, recovery, and many other individual factors.
We don't promise a specific amount of weight loss, muscle gain, or physical change within a set period of time.
What we can promise is thoughtful coaching, honest feedback, and adjustments based on the information available to us.
Sustainable progress often takes longer than social media makes it appear — and that's okay.

Will I have to be perfect?

No.
Actually, learning what to do when things aren't perfect is a major part of our coaching philosophy.
A missed workout, meal out, vacation, difficult week, or unexpected change doesn't mean you've ruined your progress.
We'd rather teach you how to respond to real life than build a plan that only works when real life doesn't happen.

What does Arizyn expect from clients?

We don't expect perfection.
We do expect honesty, communication, effort, and a willingness to participate in the coaching process.
Your coach can't help solve a problem they don't know exists.
Tell us when something isn't working. Ask questions. Share the difficult weeks along with the good ones.
Coaching works best when we're working together.
